ABOUT LIRA

Linden International Reunion Association (LIRA) is a non-profit organization that was formed in 1992 by a group of Lindenites living in the USA. Under the leadership of Pastor Alan B. Johnson, this group hosted its first reunion May 22 - 25, 1992 at Camp Winneakeag in Ashburnham, Massachusetts. The Theme that year was: "Linking our past with our present and future".

 

LIRA's Purpose:

1. To provide spiritual and social fellowship for Lindenites and individuals of Guyanese heritage and their friends who reside in the United States of America and other overseas countries. To encourage Lindenites to look back at their history and forward to the second return of Jesus Christ.

2. To support charitable and humanitarian work in the community of Linden, Guyana and elsewhere where the need exists.

3. To support educational projects and relief efforts in Linden Guyana and among the Guyanese community in the United States of America.

4. To provide opportunities for our children to learn about the history of Adventism in Linden and to challenge them to recognize their role is spreading the gospel.
